Putting out legal fires, last-minute packing, making lists and checking them twice, arranging for vehicle starts by giving keys to a neighbor, setting garden irrigation with the kids next door, and distributing fruit and vegetables so they don't sit in the house for a month, enjoying the last home-grown Greek Salad of the season, and figs for dessert....whew.
Have a safe trip, but most of all have fun!

Safety third!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous. What's the itinerary?
*flash*
LA to PARIS to BARCELONA was a very long trip, but we arrived with high hopes. We found ourselves about three blocks from the very center of everything (Placa Catalunya). We have walked for miles, taken the Bus Touristica for two days, visited the Juan Miro museum, the Gaudi Battla House, La Pedrera by Gaudi, Sagrada Familia (an enormous church with lizard and frog gargoyles on the sides), still under construction for 100 years, with plenty of work to go. We have enjoyed Tapas, Paella, snails, squid in ink, eggs with pate-de-foiegras, Spanish beers, carrying water bottles everywhere. Today, we visited the Museum of Chocolate, where Hare´s purse was stolen...yep.... and a Picasso museum featuring his early work and especially his interpretations of various characters in a family portrait (Mininas?) as Picasso experimented with them in 1957).
